VCU STUDENT HOUSING
Honors student housing for Virginia Commonwealth University is a ground floor mixed use development with two residential towers, the first floor of which is a lawn of activity overlooking the Institute of Contemporary Art and a gathering space for use by the university, students, and pedestrians. Slated as an urban connector site to the university, the building use and materials align with the new masterplan that is being implemented at VCU. The entire project is part of the Grace Street District of Richmond — a mixed-use retail college street serving both the university and surrounding community. This building is an area of interaction among many networks of open green space throughout the campus.
