Penzone Salon + Spa’s new location is a flexible, immersive brand evolution centered on a public gallery space that acts as a hub to take the guest into a total spa experience.
The Dublin location changed Penzone Salon + Spa’s way of doing things with an open concept and fewer separate spaces. This flexibility also signaled an evolution of the customer journey and employee spaces. Following this brand evolution, Penzone Salon + Spas had a wealth of information about what did and didn’t work going into the new building in the Gahanna/New Albany area.
The flexible experience embraces raw materials, durable furniture, and fixtures to combat the salon’s high traffic and rearrange as needs arise. Experiential, immersive touchpoints are created by art, branded phrases, retail selection, and locally based food and beverage selections. Hair, nails, and spa zones radiate off the central hub to create unique experiences for guests. Flexible lighting is adjustable for how the space is used, and artists can customize their work areas. Sound is sealed off from the main area so guests can focus on their well-being during their appointment.

The salon is located at a roundabout creating complexity in its elevations. The 360-degree visibility from the street made every side viewable, and the inclusion of patio spaces brings guests spilling out into the open, activating the streetscape.
