This 200-unit apartment community sits on a 28-acre lot in Santa Fe, arranged as 13 residential walk-up buildings, seven garage buildings, and a clubhouse with an outdoor pool and amenities. Tight site constraints pushed the buildings into clusters that open onto long views rather than onto each other, and covered patios extend that same logic through the site, keeping interior and exterior spaces close together. The material palette is simple by design, Southwestern in proportion, with corten-steel warmth at the entries and corners. Inside the clubhouse, a metal bird cut into the interior doors nods to the owner’s branding, echoed by a matching bird statue at the entrance.
