Woven into the fabric of Abercrombie & Fitch’s campus, the building combines offices, a data center, and a recording studio.
One of Meyers+Associates’ most recognized projects to date, Building U sits on the corner of Abercrombie & Fitch Co.’s sprawling Adirondack-themed campus. The theme carries over into Building U’s material and design choices by including scenic views of nature, open workspaces, and an exterior stair on the south façade that overlooks a natural pond.
The level of collaboration and precision that brought this project to life can be seen from every corner of the building.
Building U’s high-tech and varying functions required a robust team of architects, designers, engineers and construction experts. The data center, for example, houses scores of equipment and tech operations, as does the recording studio.
The airy interior and open studio plan encourages communication between associates while affording generous natural lighting. And the corrugated steel and cedar siding allowed the building to be thoughtfully knit into the campus fabric.
