Colonial Country Club
Colonial Country Club had outgrown its facilities. The cart barn couldn’t keep up, the turn experience needed work, and the wellness center needed modifications. What started as a master plan became the build: a new cart barn to house 90 brand new carts, a revamped pro shop, and a completely updated wellness center.
The pro shop and wellness center received full finish updates to match the campus’s recently renovated buildings, with slight reconfigurations to better align with current needs. A coastal palette modernized both spaces through lighter wood tones, warm hues, and blue and teal accents. The fitness area was updated with long-term flexibility in mind.
From the start, the process was built around the people who’d have to live with the decisions. Design meetings ran on a regular cadence with monthly presentations to the Board of Directors and the Troon management team. Club staff — the General Manager, PGA professional, and food and beverage team — were part of the conversation throughout. Early budget estimates were set before scope was finalized and validated with the construction partner, so there were no surprises when it came time to build.
