Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club
A clubhouse expansion designed to honor the Sonoran Desert and the Ak-Chin community’s heritage. The architecture follows a central spine that connects dining, event spaces, and outdoor patios—each framing views of the landscape and course. Walk from entry through the food hall, past the central bar, out to covered patios and an event lawn. At every turn, the building opens to the desert.
Heavy timber, natural stone, and desert tones create a material language rooted in place. Interior details reference traditional O’odham basketry through woven patterns, warm textures, and finishes chosen to age with grace. The project includes expanded dining in the Arroyo Grille, private dining rooms, banquet facilities, a bridal suite, an indoor golf simulator, and a drive-through halfway house between holes 9 and 10. Spaces built for golf, weddings, tournaments, and gathering.
