The Atwell Hall lobby renovation addressed both functional and experiential challenges at this campus building’s entry. The existing entry configuration created circulation problems and limited natural light, while accessibility standards required updates to meet current code requirements.

Our design relocated the main entry doors to the opposite side of the building, fundamentally changing how students and faculty experience the space. We added a fully accessible entrance and designed a new glass facade that transforms the previously enclosed entry vestibule into a light-filled gateway. The renovation included a complete interior modification of both the entry sequence and adjacent student lounge, creating welcoming spaces that better serve the building’s daily users.
