University Square Hotel

The University Square Hotel will complete the architectural frame around one of Columbus’s most significant public spaces. We’ve designed a 145-key hotel that serves as the terminus of the axial view from Ohio State’s Oval to Thompson Library, creating a backdrop for the pedestrian plaza at 15th and High Street. The hotel’s proportioned facades and quality materials honor the university’s architectural heritage while strengthening the connection between OSU’s historic core and the evolving High Street corridor.

The hotel will feature a full-service restaurant and bar, fitness facilities, and a rooftop concept with views back across the plaza to campus, while ground-floor commercial spaces activate the streetscape. A complementary 100-unit residential building and 430-space parking structure complete the development, with materials and scale chosen to relate to both campus buildings and the existing University Square context. This project continues our work in the area, which includes initial masterplanning for the 15th + HIGH Development and the design of the WOSU Public Media headquarters —  making this hotel the final piece in a district transformation we’ve been part of from the beginning.
