Kapalua Resort
A golf club fit for the pros
Located on a striking coastal setting, the Kapalua Resort is home to the first PGA tour stop of the calendar year.
Golfers and tourists travel from around the world to play on the resort’s two signature courses while enjoying its scenic views and amenities. The client hoped to enhance the clubhouse experience for the visiting pros and enthusiasts alike.
The Meyers+Associates team refined the aesthetic of both the interior and exterior and developed new social spaces — all while ensuring the design, documentation, permitting and construction would fit neatly between tournaments.
Our aim was to ensure it made a good first impression on anyone who visited.
Due to its PGA affiliation, the clubhouse is certainly a high-visibility space in the golf world. This meant designing a cohesive and quality experience, right down to the finishes, and paying special attention the materials used to ensure their durability, especially considering the project’s coastal environment.
We collaborated with the team at Troon as they made updates to the pro shop so that the two entities were complementary. Remaining in close communication with the contractor allowed the project to stay on schedule and on budget, despite the remote location and condensed timeline.
