Hollister Flagship
SoCal and SoHo meet on Broadway
At the gateway of SoHo, Hollister Co.’s signature Southern California feel is brought to life in its flagship store.
Situated at the gateway to New York’s famed SoHo neighborhood, this historic building needed a meticulous exterior restoration, requiring approval from the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission.
The interior became part shopping destination, part tourist attraction, with materials, finishes and features that align with the brand identity while drawing visitors from near and far. In collaboration with A&F Co.’s design team, Meyers+Associates brought the new flagship vision to life and notably received unanimous approval from the commission.
Dubbed ‘The Epic Store’, Abercrombie & Fitch Co. created a retail experience unlike any other with its Hollister Co. flagship.
Those familiar with the Hollister Co. brand, especially as it existed in the early 2000s, know of its signature Southern California feel. As a flagship store in New York City, this particular location needed to make a big impact. We worked with A&F Co. to design the entry so visitors walk in and onto a pier.
The atrium houses a striking stair tower in a style that unites the store with its historic structure. Large monitors placed throughout offer a livestream of Huntington Beach from different perspectives. The care given to the building’s exterior drew praise from the neighborhood and the city at large.
