199 S. Fifth Multifamily Residences

Urban revival in downtown Columbus.

You would never know it now, but 199 S. Fifth was once the site of a decayed office building and parking garage situated in a struggling neighborhood.

As the urban living growth made its way through Columbus and demand for Downtown living began to swell, the client selected Meyers+Associates to repurpose the building into contemporary luxury living. The result is a community of sought-after condos that convey energy and life in a space that sparked welcome neighborhood revitalization.

We sought to challenge the standard same-unit approach that existed with most multifamily developments, so we designed a collection of condos that are each unique and fun to explore. This also allowed us to react and respond to the structure organically.

A generous terrace and a rooftop common area provide outdoor living space and beautiful views for each occupant, while serving as a way to open up the building to the neighborhood. Sustainably sourced cladding and reverse pitch lines on the roof give the structure its characteristic appeal.
