The multifamily development was created to complement its neighbor at 1242 N. High St. to create an array of urban infill projects along North High Street in the Short North Arts District. The project utilizes the newly updated University Impact District Guidelines to create a design solution that integrates a unique site position with the neighborhood’s existing architecture, notably in the relationship between residential outdoor spaces that cantilever from, carve into, and inhabit the southern façade. The project expands the residential program on-site, providing nine loft units and nine standard units over structured ground floor parking. Large, contemporary two-story loft units offer unique living spaces with plenty of access to views, natural light, and ventilation opportunities, essential design elements in urban environments.
